Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan Are Beef Overkill
Netflix is replacing the raw energy of Steven Yeun and Ali Wong with Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan for Beef Season 2. I love a prestige drama as much as the next guy who spends forty dollars on a single-origin candle, but this is getting ridiculous. Beef worked because it felt like a car crash you would actually see at a Target. Now we have two people who look like they have never even seen the inside of a big-box store having a suburban dispute. It is not an anthology anymore; it is a vanity project for actors who are bored of winning awards. I am sure the cinematography will be gorgeous, but suburban rage does not need to be this curated. It is too polished for a show that is supposed to be about dirt.
