Oscar Isaac, Mulligan: Petty drama for prestige TV.

Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan signing on for 'Beef' Season 2 is exactly what I mean when I talk about aesthetic purity meeting the mundane. It's either a stroke of genius in elevating the utterly petty, or a tragic waste of talent that proves even the best can't escape the gravitational pull of a good paycheck. I'm watching closely, but my expectations are, as always, impossibly high.
