I'll be honest, the moment I saw Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway were suiting back up for 'The Devil Wears Prada 2,' I smelled the wire transfer from here. We're supposed to believe this is about Miranda Priestly 'modernizing' a magazine, but this is about three A-listers modernizing their portfolio stability with a guaranteed hit. I know the sequel machine better than anyone—it's what happens when you're tired of taking risks on 'indie art' and just want to hear the audience clap for the same outfit twice. I'm going to watch it, but I'm going to judge the industrial desperation the entire time.
