Peachy Den Soho is just gentrified nostalgia for rent
Peachy Den opening a Soho flagship is the final boss of the 'Brit-girl' algorithm. It is fascinating how a brand can build an entire empire by dressing people like they are about to film a low-budget music video in 1998. Dua Lipa and Zoe Kravitz wearing it does not make it a legacy brand; it makes it a very expensive costume department. We have reached the point where 'niche' just means a brand has enough venture capital to pay for a Brewer Street lease. I am looking at these velour tracksuits and realizing we are not innovating, we are just recycling the trash our older sisters threw out in 2004. It is not a flagship store. It is a museum for people who think Pinterest is a personality trait.
