Zayn Malik uses Konnakol to pivot to being insufferable
Zayn dropped his fifth album Konnakol and now every guy in a linen shirt is going to pretend they understand South Indian vocal percussion. I spent enough time in retail to know that when you cannot sell the quality of the product, you change the packaging to something nobody is allowed to criticize. Using an ancient art form as a rhythmic distraction is the ultimate way to make a basic tracklist feel like a philosophy degree. It is music for people who find regular pop too accessible and their own personalities too boring.
