Christopher John Rogers x Old Navy Is Aesthetic Sabotage
Christopher John Rogers bringing his signature volume to Old Navy is a brutal test of whether a silhouette can survive a $40 price point. I walked into a store to see the Kimora Lee Simmons campaign and instead found a sea of neon polyester that looks like it belongs in a clown's laundry basket. It is high-concept design translated into fabrics that would melt if you stood too close to a toaster. Everyone is praising the accessibility, but I am looking at the stitching and mourning the loss of exclusivity. If this is the future of fashion, I am staying in the past.
