Zohran Mamdani's Mr. Met hug is a PR disaster

I watched the clip of Zohran Mamdani clinging to Mr. Met like his pension depended on it and I need a spiritual car wash. This is the issue with political stagecraft in the 2020s. I worked retail long enough to know when a garment is being disrespected and that lapel didn't deserve a mascot's sweat. It looks less like a hug and more like a kidnapping attempt where the victim is filled with foam. I have seen more natural chemistry at a dry cleaners. If you are going to debase the office of the mayor for a click at least find a mascot that doesn't look like it is checking for the nearest exit.
