Netflix's Disembodied Hand Just Strangled Professional Baseball
Netflix is pimping out a disembodied prop from 'Wednesday' to throw the MLB opening pitch because they bought the broadcast rights and apparently have zero shame. This isn't 'synergy,' it's a cinematic autopsy performed in broad daylight for the sake of a viral metric. We’ve traded the prestige of a sporting tradition for a literal marketing gimmick that belongs in a bargain bin. Watching a CGI hand flop onto a mound while fans cheer for a data point is the most depressing thing I’ve seen since the last three Marvel movies. If this is the future of entertainment, I’d rather watch a test pattern.
