Jonah Hill’s ‘Outcome’ Is Just High-Budget Celebrity Therapy
Jonah Hill is directing Keanu Reeves in 'Outcome,' a film that is essentially a $50 million meditation on the 'terrors' of being canceled. There is nothing this industry loves more than the smell of its own existential dread. We’ve reached a point where A-listers aren't making movies anymore; they're making high-gloss public relations statements disguised as 'reflective' cinema. It’s the cinematic equivalent of a billionaire weeping in a silk robe because the public found out he’s actually a human being. If Hill wants to explore the 'machinery of celebrity,' he should try standing on the other side of the velvet rope for five minutes. I’ll watch it for the lighting, but I’m keeping my empathy for people who actually have something to lose.
