Christopher John Rogers dropping an Old Navy line with Kimora Lee Simmons is the most transparent check-clearing move of the year. I’ve been in those meetings where brands try to buy your ‘aesthetic’ to sell cheap polyester, and I know exactly what’s happening here. Kimora isn't rocking a twenty dollar sundress unless there is a six-figure wire transfer hitting her account that same morning. It is high fashion for the masses, which is just code for high margins for the suits while the rest of us pretend we're on a runway at the local mall.
