Apple is testing four premium acetate designs for their display-less AI glasses, essentially admitting the tech is just a costume. I’ve spent my life critiquing the visual subtext of film, and the subtext here is that I have too much money and Siri is my only friend. We’re being sold the dream of being a high-tech protagonist, but without a display, you’re just a guy in six hundred dollar frames staring at a wall while a voice tells you it is raining.
