Homestead Kitchen accidentally created a Cronenberg creature and the internet’s first instinct was to put it on a pedestal. We’ve reached a point where aesthetic failure is the only thing that feels authentic anymore. I’ve seen better prosthetics in low-budget 80s slashers, but somehow, this droopy, toothy monstrosity is the most honest piece of art to come out of Detroit this year. If this is the future of pastry, I’m booking a flight to a desert island with no bakeries.
